About Hoopers Hounds

Hello, I'm Jamie and I started Hoopers Hounds in 2020 after realising I couldn't find the type of service I wanted for my two Dachshunds Called Lyra and Lexi, you'll see these very beautiful dogs on some of these pages. In fact you can see me very excited smile from the day I picked them up!

I rehomed them together after wanting a dog of my own for years I was forever stealing friends and family dogs to take out and play with). What I didn't expect was that two small dogs would have quite so much attitude (which I love about them now) and so many behavioural difficulties, which I really needed some help with.

​

I hated leaving them to go to work, and always worried about their behaviour around other people and dogs, especially without me there. I found it hard to find a professional, reliable and responsible dog walker that was able to follow up with my training, so I decided to be that person for other people. 

​

I have since got 2 more dogs, a dutch shepherd called Dante who you'll see in lots of my one to one lessons and a now a Belgian Malinois called Terra who I hope to one day compete in dog sports with!

I have experience of a huge variety of breeds from Labradors, to terriers to giant breeds and all sizes in-between. I understand that different breeds have different traits due to their genetics ands that all dogs are individuals.

 

I adore working with dogs and their owners, helping them to become the best version of themselves, not only when walking with me but with their own families as well. This includes giving them all the fun, structure, mental and physical stimulation they need to be happy and fulfilled.
